Once again our 2005 vintage produced a classic Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon: the palate is earthy with a rustic complexity, showing bright fruit with a tiny bit of volatility that adds to the appeal.
Hailing from a cooler climate than most Napa cabs, the grapes were harvested in late October when this fruit hit its peak of ripeness. Barrel aged for 22 months, the wine exhibits good grip and structure, with a nice balance of fruit, acidity, and personality for a variety that rarely exhibits all three. The higher alcohol and bold tannins make this wine one worthy of cellaring into the next decade.
